What is the difference between a patent, trademark, design and copyright?
A patent can protect a qualifying invention; a trademark identifies the commercial source of goods or services; a registered design protects eligible visual features of a product; and copyright protects qualifying original expression such as software code, text and artwork.
When should an inventor contact a patent professional?
Ideally, before publicly disclosing, selling or presenting the invention. Early review helps identify disclosure gaps, possible filing routes and whether a prior-art search would be useful before drafting.
Can PRASA IP assist with patent applications outside India?
